Opened in 1993, the Italian restaurant, La Bisalta, named after the mountain range that dwarfs the hometown of the owner and chef Luigi Violino, is situated in the heart of Frome. Surrounded by mature trees, the setting of La Bisalta feels almost rural.
Easily identifiable by its covered canvas entrance and ivy clad upper storey, this genuine Italian restaurant offers a wide range of classic dishes. All dishes are cooked to order with fresh local ingredients by chef Luigi, who together with his wife Susan, has justifiably earned a far reaching reputation for excellent food and friendly service.
Pre-dinner drinks are taken in the attractive rustic bars where you can choose from the restaurant's extensive wine list or during summer months, on the charming terrace before moving into the elegant dining room with its crisp linen tablecloths and crystal-ware.
During the summer months the colourful terrace and garden at the rear may tempt you into candlelit al fresco dining, while winter diners enjoy a crackling log fire. La Bisalta is open from 7.00pm till late from Monday to Friday, 6.00pm till late on Saturday.
In order to maintain the unique service that La Bisalta enjoys, Luigi will only take bookings over the telephone. You can book your table and place your order by telephoning 01373 464238.
Theatre-goers can telephone their order before the performance and expect a warm welcome and a good meal to round off their evening.
Stuck for a present for a loved one? Then consider a voucher from La Bisalta to be used against a meal from the Menu.
